The future of Africa depends on her willingness to embrace information communication technologies. With 16 internet exchange points on our continent, a submarine fibre-optic cable connecting Africa to Europe and Asia, and advanced VSAT and WiMax capabilities, Africa's future is now. And iWayAfrica is leading the way.
iWayAfrica is the combined effort of Telkom's Africa Online and MWEB Africa. By integrating the two companies, Telkom South Africa is streamlining its ICT service operations in Africa. The companies' combined effort promises to optimize the quality of service to clientele. With AfricaOnline and MWEB Africa's presence in Ghana, Kenya, Namibia, Nigeria, Swaziland, Tanzania, Uganda, Zimbabwe and Zambia along with their operations and distributors in the rest of sub-Saharan Africa, Telkom is growing its share in the African ICT market.
Telkom South Africa announced earlier this year its successful acquisition of MWEB Africa. This forms part of its vision to become the preferred Infrastructure, Communications and Technology (ICT) solutions provider on the African continent.
"By combining the businesses we hope to increase sales by having a combined sales team as well as benefit from cost reductions as we achieve greater economies of scale" said Thami Msimango
The focus of this integration is to optimize the quality of service for customers across the Africa Online and MWEB Africa businesses. The new Pan African business aims to increase market share and offer turnkey solutions to the continent in order to increase our shareholder value.
Our core proposition to our customers is a stronger focus on service delivery and significant investment in best of breed technology solutions to compliment their existing service.
"We are excited at the progress of the integration process and aim to service our clients to a greater extent in future" commented Thami Msimango
